  • THE FLAT IS BACK!

    18th March 2024

The new Flat season kicked off at the Curragh today and although our first bet on the card, Stag Night, had to be content with place money, finishing second in the 2.05, we were up and running for the season with our second bet, with Chazzesmee (advised 11/2, SP 3/1 fav) bolting up in style for Fozzy Stack in the Irish Lincolnshire!

The UK turf season starts at Doncaster this Saturday - they host the Lincoln meeting and I have a strong ante post fancy lined up in the handicap feature.

Membership places are available on the service - see the NMP sign up page for details of how to join.

  • ANOTHER SPECTACULAR CHELTENHAM

    16th March 2024

The Cheltenham Festival has been a highly profitable week for NMP members in the past (made around +40 pts profit in both 2020 and 2021) and this year was bang up there with the best of them - we made a 2024 Festival profit of +43.46 pts (to best prices) from 82.25 pts staked (including all ante posts...many were advised NRNB).

We made a profit on every day of the Festival and came agonisingly close to landing a couple of big chops that could have easily made it a 100 pt-winning Festival - we had Chianti Classico (15/2, Ultima) and Libberty Hunter (8/1) in a double, with the former winning and latter travelling like the winner but ending up second after taking a wide trip.

El Fabiolo pulling up in the Champion Chase busted some nice multiples we had with State Man, Ballyburn, Fact To File and Galopin Des Champs (all of whom won)

The biggest near miss, though, was Waterford Whispers, who we had lined up in a decent single and various multiples for +54 pts in the Martin Pipe - the final race of the Festival. He ran an absolute screamer, hitting 1.46 in running, but there hadn't been much pace on, given the testing ground, and he'd hit the front too soon. He ended up teeing the race up for Better Days Ahead and was second.

Still, it was a fantastic week and we had 16 winners (two w/o fav) and a number of placed horses at decent prices:

TUESDAY: Slade Steel (Supreme, 5/1 (saver)), Chianti Classico (Ultima, 8/1), Telmesomethingirl w/o fav (Mares' Hurdle, 13/2), while we picked up some 22/1 place money from Telmesomethinggirl in the main Mares Hurdle market too. We also had State Man onside in ante post multiples at prices up to 11/4. He won at 2/5.

WEDNESDAY: Ballyburn (Gallagher, 4/1), Fact To File (Brown Advisory, Evs in multples) and Langer Dan (10/1, Coral Cup) landed the spoils (we had singles on all and had all three in a wee treble as well, albeit Ballyburn was at a shorter price then), while we had Libberty Hunter (10/1) placed in the Grand Annual for an each-way return.

THURSDAY: Racing switched the New course but the winners continued to flow: Grey Dawning (Turners, 5/2, saver), Protektorat (Ryanair, 9/1), Teahupoo (Stayers' Hurdle, 15/8, in multiples) and Shakem Up'Arry (Plate, 10/1) all delivered the goods. We were on Angel's Dawn for over +40 pts profit in the Kim Muir in multiples but she fell two out, when still going well (would have likely been second behind a hot winning favourite, though). We also picked up place money off Ginny's Destiny (8/1) in the Turners.

FRIDAY:  It was a case of saving the best 'til last, and the Friday was simply fabulous. Majborough kicked us off by winning the Triumph in the opening race, landing a 16/1 ante post single and teeing up a double with Galopin Des Champs (Evs), who justified favouritism in the Gold Cup later on the card. In between that, Absurde (10/1) was one of the horses we onside (not main bet) in the County Hurdle. We had It's On The Line lined up in some nice 'JP McManus' multiples on the Friday but he was touched off in the Hunters' Chase.....but we still had a good result as the winner, Sine Nomine, was one we got onside at 16/1 ante post and also backed in the w/o fav market (6/1). The gutsy grey charged home after being switched approaching the last and got on top in the closing stages for Yorkshire!

We toppled the market leaders Dinoblue and Allegorie De Vassy with Limerick Lace (5/1) in the Mares' Chase, and then Waterford Whispers rounded out our Festival when placed (7/1) in the closing Martin Pipe.

It was another fantastic year for NMP members at Cheltenham - the third time in the last five years we've made around +40 pts profit during Festival week.

  • THE MOST ENJOYABLE PUNTING WEEK OF THE YEAR IS ALMOST HERE!

    8th March 2024

Northern Monkey Punter (NMP) has established a reputation for being one of the leading Cheltenham Festival tipping services in the country and huge Festival profits have regularly been made for members: +40 pts profit in 2020, +40 pts profit in 2021 and +20 pts profit in 2023 being three such examples.

We place a mix of single (win and each-way) and multiple bets and back horses all across the odds spectrum - from bankers to outsiders, both ante post picks and on-the-day selections.

Last year we had eight winners, which included Kim Muir heroine Angel's Dawn (10/1), Champion Bumper winner A Dream To Share (5/1) and Brown Advisory scorer The Real Whacker (8/1), while we've had some fantastic winners over the years, both from our ante post and on-the-day picks.

Sizing John won the 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup for us to land a 33/1 ante post pick and, more recently, we've had Indefatigable (2020 Martin Pipe) and Heaven Help Us (2021 Coral Cup) both win for us at 40/1 and 33/1, respectively, from our bets on the day!

I love a multiple - we landed a 550/1 treble on the AW last summer - and have often plundered large sums from gambles on the big TV races - both on the Flat and over the jumps. We cleaned up over the 2023 festive period when Nassalam won the Welsh Grand National (8/1) and we landed a 164/1 treble at Ascot from Victtorino, Crambo and Luccia winning on a big Saturday card just before Christmas too.

Cheltenham, with each card packed with high quality action, provides some excellent opportunities to try chop it right off for those members interested in multiples. High class horses, who have been trained to peak on one particular day, lock horns in competitive fields, and can therefore be backed at attractive prices.

We have almost gone through the Festival card at past Cheltenhams, twice. The first occasion was on the Tuesday of the 2018 Festival. Summerville Boy (9/1), Footpad (5/4), Coo Star Sivola (10/1), Benie Des Dieux (9/2), Rathvinden (12/1) and Mister Whitaker (8/1) all did the business that day and we had six of the seven winners. The only pick we didn't have covered was the odds-on winner of the Champion Hurdle, Buveur D'air (4/6), who we had opposed on value grounds.

We repeated the trick three years later when, on the Wednesday of the 2021 Festival, we backed six of the seven winners. Again, NMP members were reporting back some bookie-bashing returns from their multiples and almost needed wheelbarrows to bring their cash home after Bob Olinger (5/2), Monkfish (7/4), Heaven Help Us (33/1), Put The Kettle On (12/1), Sky Pirate (14/1) and Sir Gerhard (4/1) all obliged. The winner we didn't have covered was Tiger Roll in the Cross Country - our selection, Easysland, finished second.

NMP is a Smart Betting Club Hall Of Fame Horse Racing tipping service and has won multiple awards at the SBC's Best Tipster Awards over the years for providing consistent profit to members since it's inception in 2010.

Fully-proofed bets are sent to members via e-mail each morning (and evening during the Festival) and are sent on a scale of 0.25 - 3 pts, with an average stake ca. 0.75 pt. A betting bank of 80-100 pts is recommended to follow the selections and we aim to double the betting bank each season - we have made over +300 pts profit over the last five years.

We are enjoying a tremendous year so far and are over +50 pts in profit (+23% ROI) since the current 2024 NMP service began just before Christmas.

Along with Cheltenham, the fast-approaching Flat season is also traditionally a golden period for the service (in the summer), so why not come on board and lock in a membership until the end of the season to secure the best value membership here?

I've put in a lot of work into researching the races in the build up to Cheltenham this year, as ever, and if the service delivers members another +40 pt Festival, ala 2020 and 2021, it won't be down to chance!

Please find more details of how to sign on at the NMP sign up page - prices start from £50 (one month) to £225 (membership until the end of November). Members will be sent a list of my unsettled ante post bets as soon as they sign up and will be added to the e-mail list to receive the next (daily) tipping e-mail.

I have a couple of solid fancies on the televised Wolverhampton card this weekend (9th to 10th March) to hopefully boost our pot further before we head into battle at Prestbury Park on Tuesday :-)

I'd love to welcome you on board......

    Cheers

    Wayne
